Fun new recipes I tried over the weekend
Okay like I mentioned in my previous post we had a great weekend. Included in that were some delicious new treats I learned about. First one was Beergaritas-have you heard of them? Well they go as follows:
Beergaritas:
4 Corona's
2/3 Pint of Tequila
2/3 Can of Frozen Limeade
Ice
Garnish with Margarita Salt and Lime= Delicious!
The other is spicy but super easy and delicious. An easy appetizer-
Jalapeno Poppers
Dozen Fresh Jalapenos
Package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Package of Bacon
Split and deseed the jalapenos
Fill with cream cheese
Split the bacon and wrap the jalapenos
Grill on some foil on the barbecue until bacon is crisp, again delicious!
On Saturday it was Pelican Zorbaz's 69Th Anniversary. Brandy my lake neighbor was volunteered to p/u prizes for the upcoming golf tournament. She just had her fourth baby in January and so I volunteered to watch her kids while her and Erik hit the prize circuit. Dave her husband took the older kids fishing and I hung out with the younger crowd. Erik and Brandy rolled up and thoroughly enjoyed their break. It was pretty cute, I wish I would have had a camera. They brought the ingredients for the Beergaritas and poppers. I volunteered to make the poppers well they got the kids settled for some dinner. If you decide to ever make them I highly recommend you wear rubber gloves when deseeding because my hands were BURNING for two days afterwards. Not sure if we will have Poppers any time soon....

Please pray for Stellan.
Last night we got home from an amazing weekend. We then finished it off with an amazing day in our backyard. The boys played all afternoon in the $4 dollar blow up pool I bought at Menard's and loved playing with the garden hose. Anthony pushed Alex around on his ride along toys. Just a really good day. I thought about posting last night but was too tired and it felt good being unplugged for the entire weekend. So I gave Erik a haircut on the deck (third one now and I am definitely getting better with each one) and fell into bed because I was spent.
Woke up today, went to get caught up on my blog reading and was shocked to see the status of Stellan had really deteriorated over the weekend. If you are not familiar with his story, (I know most of you are here) here is the link to update you-http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ . I have felt sick to my stomach since I have read it and hurt in my heart for this family.
Thank you God for I am blessed. When I am impatient with my boys because they are whining or having a bad day I am so sorry. I need to be grateful that they are happy and healthy. Please watch over Stellan. Amen.

You gotta have friends...
I love that song! What a fun week, made it definitely go by fast to see some of my favorite people and spend some quality time with them. AJ and the girls got here on Monday-yay! Ironically shortly after talking to her I am driving home excited with anticipation when I glance over and see this hot mama with three little kids getting ready to cross the street. I literally think to myself,"Who is that mom? Where was she before daycare?"Screech!!! That is my BFF with her brood in tow. I had never been to her dad or step-mom's before but I must have felt her energy and sought her out :). So we hugged and decided that we would meet back there shortly so the kids could play. Do you know the feeling of a bull in a china shop? That is how I felt as our children terrorized a clean, finger print free home with large breakable vases which surrounded them from various angles.
Thank the Lord we were at Bonnie's the following night for our mini-blogreunion and the kids were able to run, jump, scream with no avail without any of us mothers slightly caring because we were enamored in our own conversations. Tuesday was definitely a great time and has solidified with me why we need to conversate in person quarterly. Very odd how you feel like you know someone so much from just reading there blog. Not only them but you have a sense of their children. It is a must-thanks for the hospitality Bonnie!
Tonight was the last night with the Heer's (making me wish even more that they lived closer) and we just relaxed with some Papa Murphy's pizza and spoonfuls of cookie dough. Again there were many small children, a few poopy diapers, and mothers who once strategically bar hopped together putting eye cream on one another.
Thank you for being my friends, thank you for being my family, and thank you all for just being you. I am very grateful for all of you.

One more thing to add to my list...Arbonne!
Okay seriously if any of you make fun of me I will find you, pin you down, and beat you. I am now selling Arbonne, not because my goal is to become the next District Manager or drive a white Mercedes (which they of course encourage you to get to) but because I LOVE their products. I have used all kinds of skin care products but theirs is above and beyond the best. How do I know this? Because people actually will ask me what I am doing different when I am using it. I will run out in between uses and the complements will cease. I start using it again and voila I get them. So if any of you ladies want to order anything let me know. The girls at my office have already jumped on the Arbonne train because of some samples I brought in. So there you have it.

P.S. I will give you my discount too-see don't care about the money, only your youthful apperance.

Pics from the summer so far...
Perfect image of Alex now getting bugged by Anthony-the tide has shifted.
Needless to say Alex does not love the lake yet-spends most of his time in the position below.
Alex streaking and doing the wave to the pool below at Nick's wedding.
Anthony sipping on a root beer and playing a little video poker at Nick and Kaila's grooms dinner. He looked like a natural...please pray for us.
I love this picture of my little man. As much as he may frustrate me, he still brings me joy I never knew before he came.
Well here are some of my favorites from this summer so far. It is so great just to be outside and play. Keep in mind the Tortorice's are always around for some summer fun!!

I wish I would have had my camera.
This is the statement that kept running through my head all weekend long. Why do I not carry my camera on me, especially on amazing holiday weekends like this past one. It was absolutely gorgeous! I kept trying to take snapshots in my head to lock away in my memory but for now I will have to count on my blog to remember what I didn't capture in a photo. Anthony playing on the island and jumping off the rope swing for his first time. Squealing with delight when he saw his new "bunkhouse". Jumping in the middle of the lake to swim, floating on life preservers, and flashing my husband-okay now that I don't need a photo of. Seeing the most AMAZING fireworks show I have ever witnessed. Our friend Brad's uncle puts on his own personal show of fireworks for Cormorant Lake. After visiting their camp for dinner which was a child's wonderland with blow up bouncers, sparklers, and individual bunkhouses we headed over to Camp Cormorant for front row and center seats to the show. There had to been 200 boats on the lake-that is a shapshot I hope I never forget. There was almost a full mooon on the 4th and the lake was lit up perfectly. Alex was with my in-law's and after realizing how loud the fireworks are when you are right under them I was relieved. He was very spoiled by Papa and Grandma, today I am trying to break the cycle of no you don't just get it cause you scream at me. Today we are really just being lazy, catching up on getting the house cleaned, laundry, etc. Back to the real world tomorrow. I think we are going to crank up the sprinkler and I am definitely grabbing my camera-I will post some of our favorite pic's from today later. Hope you all enjoyed your holiday as much as we did.
